INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT
Praxair has an opportunity for a talented communications professional to join our dynamic team for a 6-month temporary assignment in our Denbury, CT location. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing strategic communication plans that support corporate functions and key company initiatives to help drive employee engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute internal communication plans and help manage the flow of employee information within Praxair to reach a wide and varied audience utilizing the most effective media. Job duties are focused primarily on supporting major initiatives and issues in the corporate functional organizations. Serve as a key advisor to top functional leaders to help develop communication goals and strategies. Work closely with virtually every function within Praxair at various times.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Serve as the lead communications professional for Praxair's corporate functions including HR, global diversity, global procurement and global supply chain.
+ Provide end-to-end oversight of communication projects, including strategy development, drafting of deliverables, design and print production, stakeholder review, and production/distribution.
+ Draft communications (e.g, presentations, memos, brochures, newsletter articles, website content, video scripts) on a variety of employee-related topics, including key initiatives to support all corporate functions.
+ Communicate business strategies, programs and milestones to internal audiences, as appropriate, to keep employees up-to-date on major projects and initiatives. Identify external communication opportunities to help increase Praxair brand recognition.
+ Specifically for HR:
- Develop and manage communications for the global HR function, including newsletters,
town halls, toolkits, etc. on topics including global talent management, employee
engagement, diversity, compensation, benefits, HR technology, training and development.
- Create and maintain an annual HR communications calendar.
- Help develop and execute a new portal website strategy for HR.
- Serve as the communications lead for the launch of special HR programs and events.
+ Coordinate technical, legal and stakeholder reviews to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of materials.
+ Oversee the activities of freelance talent and print vendors to ensure projects are done well, on time and within budget.
+ Explore new communication vehicles to better reach employees, including means to obtain employee feedback.
+ Ensure that content and information for employee communications is consistent with key messaging.
+ Lead special projects as assigned.
**Qualifications**
EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Communication required.
EXPERIENCE:
+ Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate communications with experience in leading employee and HR communications.
+ Prior internal merger communications experience preferred
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. _Please note that an on-site writing test will be required for candidates selected for interviews._
+ Proven experience in graphics and relevant software required.
+ Experience with intranet (i.e. posting materials) is also a necessary skill.
+ Leadership abilities (i.e. comfort counseling top corporate management; can be relied on to exercise good judgment in the absence of direct supervision).
+ Results oriented and accustomed to working within limited budgets/resources.
+ International communications, speechwriting are a plus.
+ Creative thinker with experience conceptualizing ideas and successfully executing them
+ Prior experience thinking holistically about content and storytelling from multiple angles for a single topic to execute across multiple formats/channels while balancing strategic focus and tactical execution
+ Ability to exercise good judgment to work with highly confidential materials and to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
